In conjunction with the Vice President of Medical Affairs, the Chief of Service, and the Unit Administrator, coordinates his/her working schedule so as to ensure the continuity of patient services. In conjunction with the Access staff and Unit Administrator he/she admits patients, performs diagnostic evaluations, and monitors all medical related patient issues. Works with the Unit Administrator and clinical staff to develop and maintain the unit's treatment philosophy. Also works with the Director of Ambulatory Services and clinical staff to develop and maintain the Ambulatory Treatment Service philosophy. Must be generally familiar with hospital operations, policies and procedures, and clinical placement criteria. Requires a mature individual who has a medical degree, has successfully completed residency training and is board eligible or board certified in their area of expertise. S/he must qualify for and maintain membership and a clinical privileges on the Acadia Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center medical staff. Certification required; licensure required; experience preferred. EOE
