Utilizes the nursing process, incorporates other clinical disciplines into the process and coordinates the care while acting as the patient advocate. Participates in-patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice. Med/Surg: Current Vermont RN license. Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Maternal/Child: Current Vermont RN license. Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Successfully completed a course in External Fetal Monitoring within six months of hire. Satisfactory completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Certification. Provides family centered care competently for patients in Newborn Nursery, Labor, Delivery, Post Partum and Pediatrics. Emergency: Current Vermont RN license. Graduation from accredited school of nursing. ACLS certification within one year of hire. Recent Basic Coronary Care Course. TNCC, ENPC, PALS certifications desirable. Acute Care or Critical Care experience preferred. Intensive Care: Current Vermont RN license. Graduation from accredited school of nursing. ACLS certification within one year of hire. Basic cardiac course, coronary care course preferred. Surgical Services: Current Vermont RN license. Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Basic Coronary Care course preferred. One-year Operating Room, Recovery, Ambulatory Surgery experience preferred. ACLS preferred. If no OR experience, will expect trainee to take the AORN. Perioperative nurse course. PACU: Current Vermont RN license. Basic Coronary Care course. ACLS preferred or must obtain within 1 year of hire. One year of PACU or acute critical care experience preferred. If no PACU experience, will expect to be oriented for approximately 6 months and part of that orientation will be held at a medical center.
