Accountable for utilizing the nursing process throughout the provision of patient/ family care. Responsible for delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff. Responsible for coordinating the care of patients, consulting other disciplines of the health care team, as indicated. Functions collaboratively with the medical staff and other disciplines to provide and enhance patient care. Proactively strives to maintain and improve quality outcomes. Facilitates patient care; anticipating patient care needs including discharge, individualizing patient care, and adjusting/modifying the nursing plan of care as appropriate. Is aware of cost-saving measures and helps to eliminate waste.
