Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the Board of Registry of American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Certification Agency (NCA) required. Approximately three to six months job experience necessary in order to become familiar with a variety of laboratory testing procedures are used in resolving technical problems. Analytical skills necessary in order to interrupt routine tests and recognize abnormal test results. Standard guides and procedures are used in resolving technical problems.
